The Des Moines Area Black Chamber will identify, support, economically empower, and develop sustainable black-owned and black-supporting businesses in Des Moines, Iowa area communities through advocacy, training, informing, and resource development.
Vision Statement
The Des Moines Area Black Chamber exists primarily to advocate for black-owned businesses, black-supporting businesses and the black entrepreneurs and professionals of the community. We will progressively seek opportunities, participation, and inclusion in all commercial and civic endeavors that support betterment of black, and black-supporting, entrepreneurs and their business success.
Our vision extends to others who are inextricably linked to, and rely upon, the success of the black business community, including spouses, parents, and children of black business owners and black entrepreneurs, and employees of black-owned and black supporting businesses.
Purpose
- To be an active partner in the planning process of economic growth by collaboration with public and private entities.
- To provide the black business community, including black-owned and black-supporting businesses, black entrepreneurs, and black professionals with necessary access to finance packaging (loans, grants, other financial support), technical support, procurement opportunities, effective networking, sharing of information, local, regional & state representation, and other resources to successfully compete for opportunities in the marketplace.
- To actively promote black-owned and black-supporting businesses within the greater Des Moines, Iowa area.
